Final Reflection

 


I have enjoyed this class and learning how to Blog. I prefer to write essays but I have learned to keep things short and sweet to capture an audience for blogging purposes. Being able to explore the virtual world and all the different technologies has been a eye opening experience. I have a new found respect for technology and the uses for better.

There are lots of applications for using virtual field trips. I can't think of any use for it other than in academic settings. Nevertheless, it could be utilized as a practical learning tool to discover & learn about such a wide range of topics while employing technology. Using different videos for virtual learning through the organizations learning management system can give a insight on what to expect. The recordings from didactic trainings are important for continual education. Challenges   Periodically, some webpages or videos might just be changed or deleted. As a consequence, it's essential that trainers or developers keep their fieldwork facilities and equipment up to date. There can be connectivity problems because it's online. Furthermore, organizations may not receive funds for resources to be available. This has to be closely managed especially in a nonprofit situation.

Digital Story Telling

 What can be used I found numerous visual story telling platforms. I really did not have a favorite as most has huge limitations. I went with Animoto which was probably most problematic. Canva and Vimeo were options that I reviewed. It really boils down to what you feel most comfortable with for your project.  Implementation Anything can be told via digital storytelling. You can create Blog posts or share a personal story. It can provide information about a certain subject. It can be used to display information or provide instructions. Videos can be used to market a work place or service. You can use film and video game trailers. Even the use of videos to assess individuals' understanding is acceptable. Complications The problems that emerge with technology apply here as well. It can take a lot of time to make videos. Make absolutely sure nothing is being stolen or plagiarized.
